What counts
- Contacts are the contacts you can email (not unsubscribed, bounced or suppressed), counted at the month's peak.
- Emails are messages sent in a calendar month.
- Getting close to a limit warns you first. On Solo, new sends pause at 120% of the monthly emails, with a plain reason and the plan that fits; on paid Starter and up, going over only warns. Contacts over the limit never stop a send.
Questions
Why $1, and why yearly?
$1 a month covers what a small sender costs us to run. A card fee on a $1 monthly charge would cost more than the charge, so Solo is billed once a year. The card also keeps out people who want a free way to send spam.
Are journeys really on every plan?
Yes. Most tools keep branching automation for their expensive tiers. On Plainsend a Solo account gets the same journey engine as Enterprise.
What is the "Sent with Plainsend" badge?
A small line in the footer of Solo emails. It's how small senders help us grow. Starter and above remove it.
Can I send right away?
You can send a test to yourself straight away, and your new workspace can send to your own team. Sending to your contacts needs a paid plan, your own domain verified with SPF and DKIM, and your postal address in the footer (the law requires it). The Set up page in the console walks you through all three. A new domain warms up over about three weeks: a daily cap starting at 50 that rises as your mail is accepted, most engaged contacts first.
Do you charge for seats or onboarding?
No. Invite your whole team. There is no onboarding fee. Guided migration for teams switching from Marketing Cloud or HubSpot is described here.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time. Solo is billed yearly, so it runs until the end of the year you paid for. You can export your contacts and your whole workspace (plainsend workspace export) first.
Where is my data stored?
In Sydney, Australia. See security for the details and the services we use.
